Raise royalties to stools, says Nyinahinhene

Nyinahin (Ash), Nov 28, GNA- Nana Amanpene Boateng Twum, Nyinahinhene, has appealed to the government to take a second look at the apportionment of stool land revenue.

He said the 8.3 percent of the stool lands royalties paid to the stools is inadequate and called for an increase to enable traditional areas to undertake meaningful development projects.

Nana Boateng Twum was speaking at a durbar to mark the first anniversary of his instalment.

He called for reconciliation among his people, saying that they should forgive and forget all that happened during the three years that the stool was contested for.

The chief commended the government for the Nyinahin electrification project that is in progress, contract for the tarring of the town’s streets, the water project which is on course and the increase in the producer price of cocoa.

Nana Boateng Twum appealed to the government to upgrade the facilities at the Nyinahin Government Hospital, complete the maternity block at the hospital and construct a hostel for the Nyinahin Senior Secondary School (SSS).

He announced that his sub-traditional council would soon launch an Education Endowment Fund to assist brilliant but needy pupils and students in the area.
