Woman, 60, other arrested for smuggling marijuana to Ankaful prison

Officers at the Ankaful Maximum Prisons have arrested two women who attempted to smuggle a substance suspected to marijuana to some inmates of the prisons.

The women, 60-year-old Grace Kusi and 22-year-old Mary Nyanka, concealed the illegal substance as well as mobile phones and chargers in 47 parcels of a locally made soap popularly known as ‘Azuma Blows’ or ‘Don’t Touch me’.

The commodities, the women explained, were meant for two inmates namely Ali Omar Fulani and Razak Abubakar who are serving 15 and 63 years respectively.

The two men according to whom they claim are their relatives.

The suspects have been handed over to the Elmina police command for further investigation.
