Nponua chiefs ‘fight’ Okyehene over lands

The chief and elders of Ayensuanor in the Upper Akyim West District have adorned themselves with red bands and warned the Mponuahene of Kyebi Traditional Council never to set foot on their lands on grounds of claiming ownership.

Our regional correspondent, Prince Collins Bening reporting from the area said, the elders at a press conference yesterday expressed their displeasure at the Okyenhene’s Nponuahene over the unlawful possession of lands in the area.

According to them, land guards terrorize them when ever they go onto the lands to work.

The chiefs explained that, the lands are being seized from residents at Ayensuanor on grounds that they belong to the Okyenhene.

The chiefs and elders have therefore called on the Interior Minister and the President to intervene to prevent any form of violence in the area.
