Nduom issues disclaimer on 10 million vote target

The Flagbearer of the Progressive People’s Party(PPP), Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom has denied media reports suggesting that he is eyeing at least 10 million votes in the Presidential polls slated for December this year.

“I’ve said nowhere the number of votes my party has targeted in this elections. Whoever is making that claim, I don’t know where he/she got the news from, because I’ve not said that. This is falsehood,” Paa Kwesi Nduom told Kasapa 102.5 FM.

Several media reports recently said Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom’s PPP has targeted to garner some 10 million votes to push a commanding victory in the Presidential contest in the 2016 elections.

The PPP in the 2012 election recorded 64,267 of votes which was not up to 1 percent of the entire votes.

Although the PPP intends to move its results in the major polls a notch higher than the previous years, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom indicated that the said report of the supposed 10 million votes being churned out and attributed to him as the PPP’s intended record for this year’s polls is untrue.

Nonetheless, he said the PPP hopes to get to the Flag Staff House by all the efforts they are putting in the campaign ongoing in several parts of the country.

“Nobody goes to a contest to fight for a second place. We are scrambling for a win and that is what pertains in my case and the PPP at large. We are aiming to win the contest and this can be fulfilled if Ghanaians will change their mentality this year. I pray that God will touch the hearts of Ghanaians that as they go to cast their ballots for the December polls, they will remember that Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom is the only one who can make a difference in the stale Ghanaian economy.”
