NPP manifesto launch venue not confirmed – John Boadu

The big launch of the much-talked about manifesto of the opposition New Patriotic Party(NPP) is some weeks away as party leaders have set an October, 8 date for the event.

Acting General Secretary, John Boadu re-echoing this on Kasapa 102.5 FM Monday, said although the venue for the event is quiet tentative, the party yearns to hold the event at Tamale in the Northern region.

“All things being equal, we’re considering Tamale for the manifesto launch, but off course this has to go through the National Executive and the National Council for further deliberations,” Mr. Boadu told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM.

There have been serious media banter between the two major political parties-NDC, NPP particularly on the outdooring of their respective manifestos ahead of the general polls.

The opposition New Patriotic Party have had to delay its manifesto on account of the fact that the governing NDC is fond of stealing ideas from it, hence decided to play out a more tactical strategy to guard against plagiarism of its “fine ideas” by the ruling government in this year’s elections.

However, President John Dramani Mahama over the weekend launched the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) 2016 manifesto in Sunyani in the Brong Ahafo Region ahead of the 2016 general elections.

The NDC is now the second party after the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) to have launched their policy document with three months to go to the polls.
