Campaign for NDC now or forget appointments – NDC Chairman warns

The Eastern Regional Chairman of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Bismark Tawiah Boateng, has issued a stern warning to members of the party that they cease to be appointed into government positions if they fail to campaign for the party.

He charged persons who may want to occupy juicy government positions from the party during the second term of President John Dramani, to put on their campaign gear and get to the grassroots to work vigorously to improve the party’s fortunes ahead of the December 7 polls.

According to him, Ministers of State, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs), Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of State institutions, and Managing Directors (MDs) as a matter of urgency need to vacate the comfort of their offices for grassroots campaigns if they want to either retain their positions or be promoted.

Speaking on Koforidua-based Bryte Fm, he was disappointed that many appointees are indifferent to the campaigns of the party in the region stating that they should be mindful that those who work hard deserve to be rewarded.

“The President himself is on the campaign trail while some his appointees are sitting in the comfort of their offices instead of assisting their employer. Government appointees who fail to campaign for the President will have themselves to blame because I would make sure such people do not get any appointment during our second term in office come January 7, 2017? He warned .

The NDC chairman was however full of praise for the Communications Minister, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah and Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah for their consistent support to their various constituencies and the region in general .

“So long as I remain the Regional Chairman, any appointee who fails to campaign for President Mahama would never get any appointment even if one is qualified for the position”. He stated.
