No one has stolen your ideas – Kennedy Agyapong chastises NPP

Controversial Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has chastised his party, New Patriotic Party (NPP) for accusing the National Democratic Congress (NDC) of stealing their ideas to fill their manifesto.

According to him, that accusation cannot be true because NPP as a party has failed on several attempt to outdoor its 2016 manifesto.

On Wednesday, 14th September, 2016, the NPP, led by its Communications Director, Nana Akomea, pointed accusing fingers at the NDC for stealing their ideas and that because they are not the originators they will not commit to it when it reaches the implementation stage.

The press conference was to counter the highlights of the NDC manifesto presented by the President John Dramani Mahama on Tuesday evening, prior to the major launch on Saturday.

Nana Akomea said President Mahama, in putting together his 2016 Manifesto, chose to either steal ideas from the NPP or simply repeat promises first given in NDC’s 2008 and 2012 manifestos, which he failed woefully to implement when he had the mandate.

But speaking on Adom TV’s morning show Badwam, Mr. Agyapong rather counseled the NPP to focus on issues which will garner votes for them than crying wolf where there is none.

“It’s about time we stop this child’s play and focus on issues that will move the nation forward. We are in an election year and as an opposition party ready for power, we can’t afford to counter the ruling party over unnecessary issues…most especially when we want power”, he stated.
