‘Lightning’ strikes Odike twice over picking nomination forms

In the run-up to the 2012 elections, the founder and flagbearer of the United Front Party (UFP) was nearly robbed of the opportunity to represent his party on the ballot paper due to some confusion within its ranks.

A group had gone to the Electoral Commission ahead of him to pick the flagbearer forms without his knowledge.

Following the confusion he broke away to form the a different political party, United Progressive Party (UPP) to contest in the 2016 elections.

Interestingly the same ‘wahala’ happened again. Upon arrival at the EC’s office, Akwesi Addai Odike was told that a group had picked the forms on behalf of a party he had formed and was flagbearer of, again without his knowledge.

There was fierce confrontation and things went haywire. Who says lightening doesn’t strike the same place twice?
