Former Minister of State and Ranking Member on the Finance Committee in Parliament says the vice president, Amissah Arthur has shown total ignorance with his response to Dr Bawumia’s recent lecture on the economy.
In an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei mentioned that he did not expect the vice president to make such statements since he has a Masters degree in Economics. He said he expected a former governor of bank of Ghana and a former deputy minister to understand what Dr. Bawumia said.
According to Dr. Akoto Osei, interests paid on loans are determined by the interest rates and not the number of years as the vice president mentioned.
He added that the vice president has proven that he does not understand economics which is the reason why the country’s economy is not growing.
“He is my friend, but I am sorry to say that he is completely wrong. Facts are facts,” he added.
He advised the vice president to try and cross check facts before responding to issues of such nature.
