Two media firms shut down for inciting violence in Donkorkrom

Two information centers in the Kwahu Afram Plains North District have been directed to suspend operations for one month after it emerged that they incited violence last month in the district capital.

The August 18 violence led to the ransacking of the Donkorkrom Police Station by irate residents over alleged complicity in crime by an officer.

After a District Security Council (DISEC) meeting on Thursday, September 1, Nhyiraba and Asalam information centers were cited as being used as media to spark the violence.

The suspension takes effect from Saturday, September 10. Therefore, the two centers will resume operations on October 10.
