Ghanaian pilgrims and Ghanaians in general who live in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have been led in a special prayer, known as ‘adu’a’, by the National Chief Imam, Sheik Nuhu Sharubutu, for Ghana’s December 7 presidential elections.
The special prayers were said at the iconic Mount Arafat. The session took the form of reading from the Holy Quran coupled with individual prayers.
During the prayers, the National Chief Imam placed much premium on a free, fair, and peaceful election devoid of any acrimony, insecurity, and violence.
He urged all Ghanaians to be measured in their utterances especially on political platforms, in order to avert electoral violence in the country and also help maintain the bond and unity among Ghanaians.
For his part, the Chairman of the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana, Abdul Rauf Tanko Ibrahim, expressed gratitude to the National Chief Imam and all those who offered prayers at the gathering.
He congratulated all pilgrims for observing the Hajj, emphasising that Hajj without being at Arafat was invalid according to the sayings of Prophet Muhammad.
