Mahama is already an ex-president – Dominic Nitiwul

Deputy Minority leader of Parliament Dominic Nitiwul has described President John Dramani Mahama as an ex-president even though Ghanaians are yet to go to the polls on December 7 to determine who rules the country for another four-year term.

Addressing supporters of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the Tumu Community center in the Sissala East District of the Upper West region, he observed that the president’s popularity has waned considerably compared to Nana Addo.

“John Mahama is less popular than Nana Akufo-Addo in the three northern regions. President Mahama came to this town four years ago and told you I will fix your road; is it fixed? I will revamp your cotton industry is it done? I will build a hospital for you, is it done? It’s almost 10 o’clock, for what I have seen in Tumu today, I can say for a fact that President Mahama is gone, he is an ex-president” Nothing is going to save President Mahama” he said.

He is optimistic the NDC will lose a lot of seats in the Northern, Upper East and West regions and described the parliamentary candidate for the area, Ridwan Abass Dauda as an automatic parliamentarian.

According to him, the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for the area is not deserving of another term because supporters of her own party are in arms against her and is also accused of being divisive resulting in acrimony within the NDC party.

“ If you have a candidate and her own party, her own executives, her own DCE doesn’t want to see her, she is gone” you need to change her, you need to bring somebody like Abass who you will hear talk in parliament” he stressed.

The Deputy Minority leader said there is a clear distinction between the country’s two largest political parties-the NPP and NDC.

While he observed that the NPP is at creating jobs and deliver on their promises, the NDC is good at dissipating state funds to the detriment of the citizenry.

“Everything NPP put in place is collapsing and that they are wasting everybody’s time and it’s time for the NDC to go and bring back Nana Addo and Dr.Bawumia to fix the country. They have had their 8 years as they told the NPP in 2008,”every government is given 8 years”
