Politics for wealth wrong, indecent – Agyarko

Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko has stated categorically that it is very indecent for anyone to go into politics for wealth.

Touching on the subject of people going into politics to enrich themselves, the lawmaker in his appearance on RythmzLive One on One with Berla Mundi slammed such orientation.

He advised that politics should rather be seen as an opportunity to render selfless service to humanity.

“…I think what I’m doing is that I’m doing public service and I’m doing it in the arena of politics. I think that it is wrong; I think that it’s indecent; I think that it is a shame that people go into politics to make money,” Honorable Kyeremateng Agyarko said with passion.

The pharmacist cum lawmaker however acknowledged that when public service is performed diligently, there comes along some form of gratification. He also added that if getting rich is what is pushing people into politics then doing business should be their profession not politics.
