No roads, no votes – Sagnarigu residents

Angry residents of Kulnyevella in the Sagnarigu district of the Northern Region are vowing not to campaign or vote for any political party until their roads are fixed.

They demonstrated on the streets of the community carrying placards some of which read: “Warning! No road, no campaign, no vote,” “No roads, no politics,” and “Our roads are bad, fixed them!”

The residents are blaming the Member of Parliament for the constituency, A.B.A. Fuseini and the District Chief Executive for the deplorable states of their road.

An opinion leader, Rufai Shamsudeen told correspondent Abdul Dahim that the deplorable nature of the roads has led to a lot of accidents and deaths. He said a woman died on the road recently during heavy rains.

Mumuni Abubakari, a resident told Dahim that no politician should dare come to the community to campaign ahead of the 7 December polls if the roads are not fixed.

Dahim reported that Mr Fuseini who is also the Deputy regional Minister declined comments when contacted on the issue.
