Paramount Chief of the Nanton Traditional Area is dead

The death has been reported of the Paramount Chief of the Nanton Traditional Area, Nanton Naa Alhaji Alhassan Sulemana

Naa Alhaji Alhassan Sulemana who has since been buried in accordance with the customs and traditions of the area until his demise, was one of the most respected chiefs in the Northern Region.

According to the royal family, the late chief believed to be about 80 years old, died after a short illness and was also reported to have ruled for more than three decades.

He was noted for being an advocate for peace as he championed peace and unity of the Dagbon state.

Dignitaries including Ministers and MPs on Sunday, took part in his burial ceremony held at Nanton in the Savelugu-Nanton District of the Northern region
