Scores injured as truck runs over private cars in Kumasi

Scores of people are reported injured at Maakro, a suburb of Kumasi friday evening when a Daf flat body loaded with goods ran over private cars.

According to an eyewitness Nana Agyei who spoke to Ultimatefmonline.com, the vehicle which failed its break around 10:15pm and veered off the road to the other side thus running into other moving and parked cars on sight.

‘The Daf body was heading to Offinso when its break failed, but the driver attempted to save the situation by driving on the pavement because the vehicle was said to be on top speed. It ran over a brand new Corolla and some other cars, dragging them on the road,’ he explained.

The seriously injured persons removed from the mangled vehicles have been sent to hospital and the cars have been towed away.

As at the time of filing this report, the police, ambulance service and fire service arrived at the scene.
