Kakpayili traders abandon market over poor roads

Traders at Kakpayili in the Tamale Metropolis have abandoned the only satellite market serving about 10 communities in the area over poor roads.

Managers of the facility have been forced to shutdown the facility because traders are vacating the market.

The situation is adversely affecting businesses in the area.

The continuous rainfall has also destroyed bridges connecting to the market.

Some of the devastated residents who spoke to Starr News say harvests from their farms are going bad.

“We have been appealing for the roads to be fixed and until now, government have turned a deaf ear to us. We have a lot of things to be done in the market but the access roads to the market is immotorable especially when it rains. We are calling on government to fix the roads so we can also boast of good roads”.
