Dagbon Regent endorses Mahama; predicts victory for NDC

Regent of Dagbon in the Northern Region, Kampakuya Naa Yakubu Andani, has endorsed President John Dramani Mahama for the 2016 general elections.

The Regent claimed a Wednesday evening rain in the Yendi Municipality ahead of the President’s is showers of blessing and signifies victory for the National Democratic Congress on whose ticket the President is contesting the elections.

President Mahama who is on a campaign tour of the Northern Region, had visited the Regent to seek his blessing ahead of the polls on December 7 Before he addressed the charged crowd at the Gbewa Palace, the Regent in his welcome message assured President Mahama of victory.

“The rain signifies your pure heart and good deeds, we have seen your works and today just like some years back, I and the entire Dagbon know you have won already,” the Regent assured President Mahama.

Meanwhile, President Mahama has revealed plans to upgrade the Yendi Municipal Hospital to ensure the rising populace receive quality healthcare. He also promised to continue construction of the Eastern Corridor road. He touted some achievements of his government, which he said includes the expansion of the Tamale Airport Runway that is currently has one of the biggest runway in Ghana.

“The North and Zongo communities see improvement only under the National Democratic Congress. An example is the extension of electricity to the Northern, Upper East and West Regions under the leadership of Jerry John Rawlings.

Today it is the NDC under my administration that pilgrims have been airlifted directly from Tamale to Madina” President Mahama said. The President believes the NDC’s achievements is enormous thus it deserve a second term of office to “build on the foundation we have begun. No one can build on a foundation he did not begin”.
