I’ll quit practicing as a Lawyer for a year – Maurice Ampaw

Private Legal practitioner Maurice Ampaw has disclosed that he will cease practice for a year as part of his protest against the remission of the Montie 3.

The lawyer who earlier threatened he will embark on a hunger strike should the President go ahead to exercise article 72 to pardon the trio, says he will commence that on Tuesday 23 August which will last for a week

He said he would go 24 hours each day without food and water to register his anger at the president’s decision to pardon the three.

According to him, the President had proven to be a president for just the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) by his action.

Salifu Maase (alias Mugabe), Alistair Nelson and Ako Gunn who were sentenced to 4 months imprisonment and a fine of GH?10,000.00 each for contempt of court have been remitted by the president effective 26th August 2016.
