GCB Bank mourns bullion van driver

GCB Bank Limited has expressed its condolence to the family of the deceased bullion van driver who was shot while transporting money to the bank’s branch in the Afram Plains North district of the Eastern Region.

In a statement released by Ernest Agbesi, Managing Director of GCB Bank Limited, the bank said its management and staff were saddened to hear the tragic loss of David Sarpong on Monday, 15 August, 2016.

He noted that the bank would liaise with Delta Security Services Limited to offer support to the bereaved family and added: “Despite the inherent challenges in the delivery of banking services across the country, GCB will continue to offer banking services in all parts of the country in support of national development.”

Meanwhile, police in the region have re-arrested the three suspects in the foiled robbery attack and are processing them for court.

The third suspect, in addition to two others, both police officers, bolted while they were being transferred to the regional headquarters in Koforidua.
