Deplorable roads didn’t make Nana Addo sleep – NPP

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has responded to President John Dramani Mahama’s claims that the party’s flagbearer had a good sleep while using roads in Western Region during his recent tour.

Dr. Afriyie Akoto Osei, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Kwadaso constituency said the roads in the area were in such a deplorable state Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo could hardly sit comfortably in his vehicle not to talk of sleeping.

“How can you sleep on such roads”, he quizzed on Abusua Nkomo hosted by Kwame Adinkra.

According to him, the dusty nature of the road resulted in him suffering a cold and had to treat himself immediately on arrival in Accra wondering how someone could even take a nap on such bad roads.

“I pity residents of the Western Region because the Chinese contractors are those scraping the surfaces of the roads in major towns under the guise of constructing those roads leaving residents at the mercy of dust”, he said.

He indicated from Sefwi Wiawso to Akontambra through Bia and Boitey are in such a bad state that no normal human being can blink an eye and challenged the president to use that stretch of the road and give Ghanaians the result.

“You cannot sleep on such a road. I am happy Nana Addo has been to the area and the people are very hopeful he will transform the area if given the mandate to lead the country by December 7”, he added.

The President who begun his #Changinglives #TransforminGhana tour of the Western Region on Tuesday, alleged Nana Akufo-Addo, was sleeping during his 5-day tour in the Western Region, for which reason he didn’t see the numerous good roads in the region, and other projects.

The NPP Flagbearer, Nana Addo, is reported to have stated during his campaign tour of the region that roads in the region are bad and have not seen any face-lift under the NDC administration.
