Blind Association celebrates 40th anniversary

Breman Asikuma (C/R), Nov. 10, GNA- The District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr Sampson Kwame Anfako, has said that the government will continue to give the needed support and co-operation to the visually impaired.

He said the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District Assembly had always been in contact with the Ghana Association of the Blind (GAB) and will continue to offer the needed assistance when the need arises. These were contained in a speech read for him by the District Co-ordinating Director for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa, Mr Alex Anthony Addison, at the 40th anniversary celebration of the GAB at Breman Asikuma at the weekend.

The DCE appealed to those who have been trained in some vocations and have put it aside and taken to street begging to settle down and earn a living from their trade. The celebrations coincided with the inauguration of a branch of the Association for Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa.
