Three NGOs donate equipment to New Abirem Hospital

The Ntiamoah Foundation in partnership with Ghana Hope Foundation and Newmont Akyem Mines have handed over medical and surgical equipment to the New Abirem Government Hospital.

The equipment worth $ 112,700 comprised an operating room table, anesthetic machine, data scooe patients monitor, 17 hospital beds, sony printer, K Storz laproflator and two Olumpus light source.

At the presentation, Madam Mercy Quansah Ansah the Executive Director of Ntiamoah Foundation said, the body was established in May 2006 by one Mr Robert Kwaku Appiah Asante and aims at promoting education and health care.

Madam Ansah said, the foundation has so far given scholarship to about 105 students at the secondary cycle and tertiary level.

Also regular donations have been made to various hospitals and community health planning centres to improve health service delivery in and around its catchment area in the Eastern Region.

Mrs Deman Rageh the Executive Director of Ghana Hope Foundation told the media that the organisation based in the United States is a non-governmental organisation established to support citizens in Ghana especially at health centres and hospitals.

Mr Thomas Azurago the Birim North District Health Director expressed gratitude for the donation.

Mr Alexander Osei Bonsu the Medical Superintendent for the Government Hospital, called for collaborative support from all to elevate the hospital to a centre of excellence.
