EC begins 5-day exercise for presidential candidates to transfer vote

Presidential and Parliamentary candidates wishing to transfer their vote from one polling station to another can do so beginning from today.

The five-day exercise by the Electoral Commission is restricted to candidates wishing to contest in the December Elections alone. This means, such candidates can visit the District Office of the EC within the five-day period to do so.

Head of Communication at the EC, Eric Dzakpasu told Starr News, such persons will have to meet certain requirements such as ”being a resident of the new constituency thus where you want to contest for a period not less than 12 months, prove of resident after which, you have to go to the district office physically to complete the transfer of vote”.

Meanwhile, about 5,300 people have been registered at the end of the second window for NHIS registrants which ended on Friday, bringing the number to 29,550 so far.
