3 feared dead at Welembelle

Three persons are feared dead at Welembelle in the Sissala East District of the Upper West Region.

Two of the victims who are girls went in search of shea fruits at the farm on Friday but mysteriously disappeared after a heavy rain which flooded the area only for one aged 12 years, to be found dead on Saturday morning.

All efforts by locals to find the 6-year old who accompanied her to the farm has proven futile.

A 32-year-old farmer who led the search has also gone missing raising fears among residents of the area.

A reporter with Tumu-based Radford FM indicates most residents who were on their way home from the farm when the rain started had to use alternative routes after most roads in the area had been rendered inaccessible.
