NDC readies for campaign launch in Cape Coast

Hundreds of supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress have started arriving in Cape Coast for the launch of the party’s campaign for the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections.

The campaign will be launched on Sunday at the newly constructed 15,000 capacity stadium in Cape Coast.

Some of the NDC bigwigs arrived at the venue on Saturday afternoon to gauge the mood and monitor preparations for the event.

There’s heavy security in and around the stadium.

Ahead of the campaign launch, there’s some controversy in Cape Coast over the decision of the traditional authorities to lift the ban on noise-making, which precedes the Fetu Afahye festival.
