Mahama abandoned by youth – Carl Wilson

President John Mahama, who is seeking re-election in the December polls on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), does not have the youth of this country behind him, Mr Carl Wilson, a former Chairman of the Confiscated Vehicles Committee (CVC) and a National Democratic Congress (NDC) activist, has said.

According to him, the government of President Mahama has failed the teeming youth of this country, especially in the area of job creation, hence the support he got in the 2012 elections from the youth would not be there in this year’s elections.

Speaking on Ghana Yensom on Accra100.5FM, hosted by Chief Jerry Forson, Mr Wilson said: “I know Ghanaians are not satisfied with the governance they are being [served] with today, especially the youth who do not have jobs. The propaganda is too much and they have clouded the reality on the ground.”

He added: “If you do away with the propaganda and you face the real facts on the ground, they themselves [NDC] know that the elections will be difficult for them. President Mahama doesn’t have the youth behind him. The youth that drove him to power in 2012, I don’t believe President Mahama has [them] behind him. He doesn’t. And the youth have 70 per cent presence in the voters’ register…people are crying for jobs…”
