Two crushed to death in kiosk

Two unidentified men met their untimely death on Monday when a tanker which was travelling at top speed rammed into their lotto kiosk along the road at Manso-Akropong in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region.

Eyewitnesses said the accident, which occurred at about 2:30 pm, traumatized the residents of the farming community. The tanker, with registration number WR 152 – 13, reportedly collided with a Toyota corolla saloon car registered AW 689 – 12 and later ran into the lotto kiosk, killing the two occupants instantly.

An eyewitness, Kwadwo Adu, told DAILY GUIDE that the two men died at the scene while three others, who were on board the saloon car, were conveyed to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to him, it took residents more than 40 minutes to pull the survivors out of the car and recover the deceased who were beneath the truck’s tyres.

Mr. Adu said the truck dragged the car along before it hit the lotto kiosk. Another eyewitness, Mama Adwoa, stated that there were body parts all over the place. The head of one of the victims was severed while the other was trapped under the tanker’s tyres, according to her.

She said the injured victims were transported to the St. Martin’s Hospital at Agroyesum, while the deceased were conveyed to the morgue
