3 burnt in gas explosion in Dominase

Three persons have been left in critical condition after a gas cylinder exploded in a house at Dominase near Winneba in the Central Region on Wednesday, August 10.

The victims include a couple who had complained about their faulty cylinder and a handyman contracted to fix it.

The three are currently on admission at the trauma centre of the Winneba General Hospital.

Narrating the incident to Class News, Pink FM reporter Francis Kojo Mbeah said: “When we got to the house, we were told a woman in the house wanted to light her gas stove to prepare a meal. She realised there was a problem with her gas tube and asked for help because she didn’t know what to do about it.

When they tried to light the stove after they had fixed the problem, they were unaware that the gas had leaked.

This caused the explosion and the three people who were standing by the stove had their faces burnt.”
