Fire guts Adansi Fomena NHIS, NSS offices

Fire has gutted the Adansi Fomena District offices of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and the National Service Secretariat in the Ashanti Region.

The fire which began in the early hours of Monday destroyed documents belonging to both institutions – NHIS and NSS. It also affected computers, desk, among other office equipment.

A local reporter, Francis Owusu Amega told Onua FM’s Yen Sempa that the fire started around12midnight but the cause of the fire is yet to be established.

The reporter said the offices are closer to the Fire Service Station in the District but it could the fire personnel some time to quench the fire. Personnel of the Ghana Police Service and the Fire Service are currently investigating the issue.
