Mahama celebrates Apenorto festival with residents of Mepe

President John Dramani Mahama joined the Chiefs and people of Mepe in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region to celebrate their annual Apenorto festival.

The celebration which 62nd in its series, is celebrated annually to renew the sense of unity of the chiefs and people of Mepe a farming community in the region.

The president has praised the good people of Mepe for the colourful durbar and rich display of culture and assured the Chiefs of government’s continuous support in the education, health and road sectors among others.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for North Tongu and Deputy Minister for Education -Tertiary, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa; Minister and Deputy Ministers for Transport, Fiifi Kwettey(MP) and Joyce Bawah Mogtari; Mr Prosper Bani ,Minister for Interior; Col. Gbevlo Lartey ,former National Security Coordinator; the DCE and other government functionaries and dignitaries graced the colorful ceremony.
