OccupyGhana can’t advise Mahama – Fred Agbenyo

Deputy Communications Director of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fred Agbenyo has replied policy think tank, Occupy Ghana, for meddling in the Montie 3 saga.

Fred Agbenyo wondered why the Occupy Ghana, which to him, is pro-NPP would even advise President John Dramani Mahama on what to do in the Montie FM court case.

According to him, though “we admit that they (the convicts) deserve to be punished but we think the sentence was too harsh.”

He cited instances where some people in previous governments committed similar contemptible offences but were either pardoned or receive lesser rulings.

Mr. Agbenyo therefore wants the Occupy Ghana and critics of President John Mahama to shut their mouths and stop posing as the President’s advisors.

“Suddenly, they (OccupyGhana) think that our Ministers are unwise. That our ministers don’t know what they’re doing. They (OccupyGhana) know better? All manner of people, now the President must listen to them. They love the NDC and President Mahama more than us?. What’s Occupy Ghana’s agenda? They want Mr. Mahama to lose the elections . . . NDC should be out of power. Their darling man is Nana Addo.

Suddenly, they want to advice the President? They appreciate him better than we do in NDC? Suddenly, such people all understand issues better than us?” he asked rather sardonically.

Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokrokoo, he further questioned the logic behind such attempts to get the President to reason with them, saying “so, when we advise President Mahama; we don’t have the right?”

“I don’t think those people are better placed to be advising the NDC and President Mahama than we can do,” he said.
