NADMO distributes items to flood victims

The Awutu-Senya East Municipal Directorate of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) has donated assorted relief items to 160 flood victims at Ada Korpe, a suburb of Kasoa.

The items include mattresses, cooking oil, blankets, plastic buckets and plates, drinking cups, mosquito coil, and Insecticide Treated Mosquito Nets.

Mr Charles E.A. Koomson, the Municipal NADMO Co-ordinator, who led personnel of the organisation to distribute the items, sensitised the people on human activities that result in flooding whenever it rained heavily.

He said building on waters ways, dumping of refuse in gutters and drains as well as failure to construct gutters around buildings as some of the factors that contributed to flooding whenever there was rainstorm.

He said it was about time people changed their attitude towards the environment to prevent flooding whenever it rained.
