Malam Issa is a dubious character – Edmund Kyei

A member of the Ashanti regional communications team of the NPP has laid into former Youth and Sports Minister, Malam Ali Yussif Issa describing him as a phony and a fraud.

He says Malam Issa is trying to garner “cheap popularity” by hurling extremely unsavory and unwarranted insults at Nana Akufo-Addo.

Malam Issa, who was jailed by the erstwhile Kufuor administration for misplacing $46,000, recently likened Akufo-Addo to Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin.

Me, Malam Issa, I see both Hitler and Stalin in him [Nana Akufo-Addo] because he is not a peacemaker,” the former failed Adentan parliamentary aspirant is reported to have said about the NPP flagbearer.

Speaking to asempanews.com in an interview, the NPP firebrand could not comprehend why the ex-minister has make it a point to always come after Nana Akufo-Addo whenever general elections are approaching.

“If I were his relative, I would have advised him to concentrate on seeking forgiveness from God, rather than spending so much time on attacking the NPP. He is a disgrace to politics,” Mr Kyei stressed.

He, however, urged the media to disregard such statements, especially coming from an ex-convict.

He added that Malam Issa has lost touch with Ghanaians, and that, his statements will have no effect on the upcoming general election.
