16 rooms razed down by fire at 37 Police Barracks

Sixteen rooms at the Block H of the police barracks around the 37 military hospital area have been razed by fire.

The inferno, which started around 8am on Monday July 18 took firemen close to four hours to put out, after residents had tried unsuccessfully to douse the flames.

Class News’ Ridwan Karim Dini Osman, who visited the area, reported that residents were unable to salvage anything. No casualty was recorded. Ridwan said one lady who was preparing to get married had all her bridal dress and items consumed by the fire.

Residents, however, said they suspected the fire was started by an electric spark.
