I will establish Northern Development Authority – Akufo-Addo

Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has promised to establish a Northern Development Authority to replace the “corruption-riddled” and inactive Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) when voted into power after the 2016 polls.

According to Nana Akufo-Addo, in the event of victory at the polls, his administration will come out with a comprehensive development plan for the transformation of the savannah zone.

“In the last election, I said if I become president I was going to establish the Northern Development Authority to bridge the gap between the south and the north. John Mahama chastised and lambasted me and said I was desperate for power and I was deceiving Ghanaians.

He said he could do it much better but what do we see? SADA is riddled with a lot of corruption.

When I become president I will ensure SADA works again,” he said at the Obuasi Central Mosque as part of his five-day tour of the Ashanti Region.

“Ever since we gained independence, no government has allocated budget for the Zongo community. Under my leadership we will take action to establish the Zongo Development Fund to better your living condition,” Nana Akufo-Addo added.
