Danger looms at new Achimota overhead

Commuters of the Achimota-Nsawam road have expressed concern over the risk posed by the new Achimota overhead.

The concrete primer beneath the bridge has been chipped away exposing naked iron rods which signal a looming danger. It is believed that truck drivers who overload their vehicles above the headroom limit of 4.5 metres results in their vehicles colliding with the overhead hence the exposure of the iron rods.

A visit to the scene by Starr News reporter Prince Afotey revealed that there is a catastrophe in the waiting.

Residents and commuters at the scene said they live in fear anytime they use the overhead and called on government to find a lasting solution to avoid any imminent disaster.
