The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), in collaboration with the International Affairs Secretariat, has officially opened the call for event proposals for the highly anticipated “December in GH 2025”, Ghana’s premier end-of-year celebration of culture, heritage, entertainment, and hospitality.

Slated to run from December 1, 2025, to January 3, 2026, the CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority, Maame Efua Houadjeto, has disclosed plans for the event, stating, this year’s edition will be the most dynamic yet, aligning with the spirit of the Black Star Experience and reaffirming Ghana’s place as a leading destination for global cultural tourism.

“December in GH is more than a festive celebration, it is a movement that showcases Ghana’s vibrant spirit to the world.” “As we embrace the Black Star Experience, we are setting the stage for our biggest December season yet and look forward to innovative events that will elevate Ghana’s place on the world stage.” Said, Maame Efua Houadjeto, CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority.

The ‘December in GH’ spans a month-long calendar of curated events across music, fashion, art, nightlife, and cultural showcases. Each year, the initiative draws thousands of visitors, including Ghanaians from the diaspora and global tourists seeking to reconnect with Africa.

The GTA is now inviting event organizers, promoters, and cultural curators to submit their proposals for events scheduled between December 1, 2025, and January 3, 2026.

Annabelle McKenzie, Director of the International Affairs Secretariat, emphasized the importance of collaboration in planning. “We’re excited to work with event organizers who bring fresh ideas and energy. It’s a time when the global diaspora comes home to experience Ghana’s warmth, culture, and creative pulse. This year, we’re inviting the world to be part of the Black Star Experience in an even bigger way.”
