It doesn’t pay to be a ‘Tarzan’ on radio – Kwesi Pratt

Veteran Journalist, Kwesi Pratt has appealed to the Supreme Court Judges to spare the lives of the three Montie FM culprits in the recent contempt case.

Speaking to host Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM’s ‘Kokrokoo’, Mr. Pratt expressed worry over the incident involving the three persons, Alistair Nelson, Godwin Ako-Gunn and the Host of Montie FM’s afternoon show Salifu Maase, a.k.a Mugabe.

According to him, he will be sad to see the culprits end up in prison.

“Not because they’ve done anything good but knowing the conditions in prison, I think the Judges should temper justice with mercy.”

Mr. Pratt however condemned the threatening comments which were made by the three and hoped media practitioners will take a cue from the incident.

To him, no media personality should see him or herself as a “Tarzan” on radio.

“It doesn’t pay to sit on radio and to pretend that you’re Tarzan. There is no Tarzan on radio,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the court sitting on the contempt case against some radio communicators who allegedly threatened to kill Justices of the Supreme Court took off today.

Chief Justice Georgina Wood and Sulley Gbadegbe JSC have recused themselves from the panel sitting on the contempt case.

The court has adjourned the case to Monday, 18th July.
