Shai Paramount chief sues council over confirmation

The Paramount Chief of the Shai traditional area, Odeopor Martey Koodjoe Awah, has sued his traditional council over their refusal to sign the necessary documents to enable him to be gazetted as paramount chief.

He says the council has been adamant over the matter for the last 15 years.

In an affidavit to support his application, Solomon Akwetey, as he is known in private life, said the council has failed to comply with an earlier court order asking them to sign the documents.

The Council, according to Starr News’ court correspondent Wilberforce Asare, has in turn filed an application in opposition to the claims of the disgruntled chief.

The matter will be heard on July 27.
