Business School dismisses 25 students

for not meeting standards

Agona Swedru, Oct. 27, GNA- Twenty-five students of the Swedru School of Business have been sacked for poor performance while 30 Senior Secondary School students have been repeated for not performing well in the third term examinations.

Mr Kwadwo Opare-Essel, headmaster of the school who was addressing the annual general meeting of Parents Teachers’ Association (PTA), said the dismissed students failed to meet the school’s standard. He advised parents to ensure that investments in their children’s education yield fruits. Mr Opare-Essel said students owed about 90 million cedis in school fee and appealed to the parents to settle the bill.

He commended the PTA for providing the school with structures. Nana Barima Oduro, chairman of the PTA announced that the association is constructing two bungalows at the cost of 120 million cedis adding that plans were advanced to construct additional classroom blocks for the school. 27 Oct 03
