Konadu a lost sheep; NDC will not look for – Asiedu Nketia

“There are millions of other people who think NDC is on course and has stayed; let her do her business and let us do our business. Mind you in every political party, people continue leaving and people continue coming on board. It is only in the Bible where it is said that when you have hundred sheep and one leaves, you leave the ninety-nine (99) and go chasing the single sheep. In politics, you do don’t need ninety (99) nine, you only need fifty plus one (50+1). There is no difference between the vote of a king and a vote of a messenger, so at the end of the day, it’s all about votes…numbers , so you don’t focus your attention too much on one king or one doctor when you can easily capture hundred kayayees (head porters) to vote for you.”

That is the response of the General Secretary of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketiah to the former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, who helped her husband, Ex-President J.J Rawlings build the NDC party.

The former first lady who broke off from the NDC and founded her own party, the National Democratic Party (NDP) after losing to late President Mills at the NDC Presidential election, has consistently said the NDC deviated from the ideals on which the party was founded which is probity, accountability, and social justice, hence her quitting the party.

She added that some persons hijacked the party and started running the party with different principles.

But Johnson Asiedu Nketia aka General Mosquito, has said the party will not waste time trying to mend their differences with Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings at the expense of increasing the party’s membership.

Both spoke to Accra based radio station Joy FM.
