Stop patronising services of prostitutes – Police

The Kwabenya District Commander, Supt. Mrs. Victoria Yamoah is advising the general public to be weary of unscrupulous prostitutes who have deployed means of robbing people by plying this illegal activity.

She was peaking to Rainbow Radio 87.5FMs Kwabena Agyapong on Nyankonton Mu Nsem following the arrest of some 29 alleged prostitutes including minors. The District Commander and her team arrested the 29 prostitutes at two popular nite clubs at Taifa and Kwabenya last weekend involving a 13 year old girl in live action.

Information gathered indicates that the prostitutes do not reside in Taifa a suburb in Accra but they came to trade sex with their colleagues guys who connive to rob their clients who send them to their homes.

The suspected prostitutes are between the ages of 13 and 32 years while their male accomplices are between the ages of 23 and 27 years. Their modus operandi according to Supt. Mrs. Victoria Yeboah is to spy victims who seek their services and later rob them.

Some of the prostitutes she added, pretend to be given a lift from unsuspected men then latter scream to alert their accomplices that the man have slept with them but had refused to pay.

They then rob the person at a gun point or the use of other offensive weapons. The arrest she stressed was based on intelligence report. She urged the public to stop patronising the services of prostitutes since their trade is illegal and could increase in criminal activities.
