Eid-ul-Fitr: NPP donates to kayayei in Kumasi

The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Republic Day presented some items to porters in Kumasi towards the celebration of Eid-ul-Fitr, the feast which marks the end of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan.

Presenting the items on behalf of the party’s flagbearer for the 2016 elections, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, National Organiser and acting General Secretary John Boadu said the move was motivated by the party’s love for the welfare of all Ghanaians. He said the NPP and its presidential candidate was concerned with improving the lives of all people, including porters and their children, to ensure they prospered while their children had a secure future.

The items included sacks of rice, gallons of oil, tins of tomato, clothing, biscuits, and drinks and an undisclosed amount of money. Mr Boadu personally offered GHS1000 to aid in preparation for the feast to be held on Wednesday July 6, 2016.
