Only homosexuals insult women – Allotey Jacobs

The Central regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Allotey Jacobs has taken a swipe at lawmaker Kennedy Agyapong, saying any man who accuses women of exchanging sex for jobs is a homosexual.

In reference to the sex-for-job allegation made by NPP MP for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong against the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Charlotte Osei, Mr. Jacobs said no reasonable man will make such a disgusting and condemnable statement against a woman.

“Why are some Ghanaians trying to pull her down, we should allow her to be. I tell you, any man that accuses a woman of exchanging sex for a post is a homosexual,” Mr. Jacobs told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5FM.

He added “that person might also be impotent. What at all is happening in Kwame Nkrumah’s Ghana? When you look at the rich CV of the EC Boss, her qualifications…rising through the ranks to her current position, I don’t see why people should speak ill of her. She’s taken the bull by the horn and working very hard, we need to support her so she delivers.”

Mr. Agyapong’s comment has been widely condemned by majority of Ghanaians including Civil Society organizations, the Christian Council of Ghana, the Ghana Bar Association and other political parties.

Some have questioned his basis for making such claims and have demanded that he substantiates his allegation or retracts and apologizes unreservedly.

But the legislator is unrepentant and has vowed to expose more rot on the EC Boss if Ghanaians dare him.
