The surgery theater at the Effia-Nkwanta regional hospital in Takoradi in the Western region has caved in during a live surgical operation, Starr News has learnt.
The development has caused a temporary hold up on the ongoing operation, Starr News Emmanuel Ohene Gyan reported Friday.
Medical officers on the patient are left distraught by the accident.
Meanwhile, a 31-year-old pregnant woman has died due to the unavailability of blood transfusion equipment or ‘giving set’ at the hospital.
The giving set is a typical administration set, including tubing, burette, drip chamber and roller clamp installed in hospitals for blood transfusions.
She reportedly died while being transported to a different facility, upon referral.
