‘One district, one factory policy’ is feasible – Edmund Kyei

A member of the New Patriotic Party communications team says the promise by Nana Akufo-Addo to build one factory in every district would come to fruition if the party is elected into office.

Edmund Kyei believes if the prevailing corruption and looting of state resources are halted, there would be sufficient funds for the NPP to achieve that with ease.

“This will be feasible if we are able to stamp out corruption and other corruptible practices, which have stalled our development for many years,” Mr. Kyei disclosed in an interview.

With at least four months to the 2016 general elections, Nana Akufo-Addo on the campaign train promised to build one factory in each of the 216 districts.
He vowed to make industrialization the cornerstone of his policy of economic transformation.

Explaining Akufo-Addo’s policy further, Mr Kyei divulged that the party would soon come public with the necessary documentations on how it plans to execute the project.

He adds “that would bring clarity to end the raging controversy the issue has attracted in the media. Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP are committed to transforming this country and we believe that with the right strategy and the political will, such projects are doable.

“We received lots of flak for promising free education in 2012, but after the election President Mahama and the NDC made a u-turn to tell Ghanaians that was feasible. The NPP has the track record and we are bent on implementing this project if that would help create jobs for the thousands of jobless youths”.

In a bid to further stir a progressive front, the Asokwa Constituency branch of the NPP is expected to officially launch its campaign for the November general election.

The Member of Parliament for the area, Madam Patricia Appiagyei, would address tens of thousands of supporters at the event.
