The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Mr. Abubakari Kudus, has led a delegation to the residence of the National Chief Imam, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, to introduce the Agency’s new Arabic Teaching Model.
The visit, which took place over the weekend, forms part of YEA’s efforts to engage key stakeholders in promoting inclusive and sustainable youth employment opportunities across all communities.
The Arabic Teaching Model is an upcoming initiative designed to recruit Arabic teachers and provide them with monthly stipends. According to the Agency, the programme will not only create jobs but also promote the development of Islamic education in Ghana’s Zongo and Muslim-majority communities.
Speaking during the visit, Mr. Kudus emphasized the importance of empowering all segments of society through targeted employment policies, adding that the support of the Chief Imam is crucial to the success of the initiative.
The National Chief Imam welcomed the delegation and lauded the programme, expressing hope that it would help reduce youth unemployment and improve educational standards in underserved areas.
The Arabic Teaching Model is expected to roll out in the coming months as part of YEA’s broader strategy to bridge employment gaps while respecting cultural and religious contexts.
