Ofosu Ampofo must resign now – JH Ambassadors

A pro-President John Mahama youth group, JM Ambassadors, are calling for
the immediate resignation of the board chairman of the Ghana Ports and
Harbours Authority, Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo.

The group demonstrated at the main reception hall of GPHA dressed in
National Democratic Congress (NDC) branded smokes and holding placards
some of which read; “Ofosu Ampofo must go”, Ofosu Ampofo spoils the
NDC”, “dissolve GPHA board” among others.

The JM Ambassadors are accusing Mr. Ofosu Ampofo of betraying what they
call the “father for all policy of President John Mahama” by refusing to renew
the operating license of Odart Stevedoring Ltd., a stevedoring company.

Speaking in an interview shortly after the demonstration, the national
coordinator of the group, Alhaji Alhassan Galadima, issued a two-week
ultimatum for the license to be issued.

He threatened that his group will
initiate a court action if their demand is not met by Mr. Ofosu Ampofo.

“The world is watching” he said and he went on to add that “history will
judge Ampofo harshly if he denies Odart Stevedoring Ltd the license to
operate”.

He also accused Mr. Ofosu Ampofo of betraying the founding documents,
principles and fathers of the NDC through his (Ofosu Ampofo) vindictiveness
by targeting legitimate business persons in the country.

He said political bullying by Mr. Ofosu Ampofo and his board at GPHA has no
place in the search for political success by the NDC.

“It should be made clear to Ampofo that at the end of the day, the citizenry,
the nation and the NDC will win” he concluded.

Several efforts made to contact Mr. Ofosu Ampofo for a reaction to the
development proved unsuccessful as he never answered all calls placed to his cell phone
