Life in opposition is a “struggle” – Mensah-Bonsu

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Suame Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu has said he had to live a pretentious life to keep going as a lawmaker.

However, he said it has not been easy being in opposition over the last eight years, especially in a country like Ghana.

“I’m pretending to be good,” Mensah-Bonsu confessed to Bola Ray on personality profile show Starr Chat.

According to him, “opposition is a struggle” and sometimes even sourcing for information during his research to enhance debate or investigation for his parliamentary works has been difficult.

He said sometimes he had to “disguise” himself to go through a lot of risk to access information to back motions in Parliament.

“Life in opposition is not the best in Ghana,” the Minority Leader admitted on Wednesday.

However, he said he remains resolute and will continue to give off his best to serve Ghana.
